Hair clip with French Polynesian cultured pearls. Series of 10.

Handmade · surprise design

from €30.00Barrette · Series of 10

A French Polynesian cultured pearl takes two to three years to form, in the dark, inside a lagoon oyster. It is never quite round and never quite the same colour: the grey turns green, aubergine or steel depending on the light that catches it. Mounted by hand on a clip, with nothing added to compete with it. Ten pieces mounted, each with its own shade.

  • French Polynesian cultured pearls
  • Mounted by hand, piece by piece
  • Series of 10 - each pearl has its own shade

Material & making
Material
French Polynesian cultured pearls, metal mount
Origin
Pearls from the lagoons of French Polynesia
Making
Pearls selected then mounted one by one, by hand.

Uniqueness : No two cultured pearls are identical: shape, orient and shade vary from one piece to the next. The one sent to you is drawn from the current series.

Care & durability

A pearl is soft: put it on last, take it off first. No perfume, no hairspray, no chlorinated water on it. Wipe with a soft cloth after each use.

The work & the author

Piece mounted by hand by SARITA, for the “Ce que la mer rapporte” resonance. Small series, never twice the same shape: the material decides, the hand recognises.

Shipping & returns

Handmade piece, shipped directly by the maker once your order is received. The exact design sent is picked at random among the pictured motifs, subject to available stock. As with any ready-made item, you have the standard 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt.

SARITA

Sarita is the one resonance we never had to pick up: she was already there, somewhere between a Polynesian lagoon and a tiny workshop. She works with materials nobody designed - shells picked up on the shore, pearls born in the dark - and mounts them by hand, one at a time. Nothing is reproducible: the sea decides the shape, Sarita only recognises it.
